Connecting your YouTube Channel with Google Analytics

The Google Analytics service for YouTube is only available for those users who have a partner account on YouTube and by Linking your YouTube partner account with Google Analytics provides a more sophisticated way to track your user's visits, video plays and interaction with your YouTube channel.  YouTube provides a simple interface In Channel Setting section --> Advanced for inputting your Google Analytics ID so that you can begin analyzing traffic to your videos in no time.

Step 1

Navigate to Google Analytics, https://www.google.com/analytics
and click "Access Analytics." If you already have an account, you will be directed to the Google Analytics dashboard. If not, enter your Google account username and password and then click "Register" to sign up for a new account.

Step 2

Click the "My Analytics Accounts" drop-down menu, and select "Create New Account." Click "Sign Up" to continue.


Step 3

Enter your YouTube channel website address and a name for the Google Analytics account, and then click "Continue."

Step 4


Enter your name and country, and then click "Continue."

Step 5

Click the check box beside "Yes, I Agree to the Terms and Conditions," and then click "Create New Account."

Step 6

Click the "Google Analytics" logo to return to the dashboard, and then click the title of your YouTube channel.

Step 7

Copy the Google Analytics code that begins with "UA."
Something like this..  UA-45549177-1

Step 8

Navigate to YouTube, and sign in to your account.

Step 9

Click your user name, and then click "Settings."

Step 10

Click "Branding Options" in the left sidebar.

Step 11

Enter your Google Analytics code in the "Google Analytics" text box, and then click "Save "

and You're Done!
